What many business owners may agree on, is that, customers are in many ways the nutrients and elements that keep any business alive. Without them a business place can just be considered a piece of art, hung on the wall of your house, just to admire and sometime lose yourself rather than contribute to the everyday running of it. The global market has become the shopping mall for many consumers. And for many business places today, "customer service" may just be that deciding factor, on whether or not a customer would shop at their store.
For all businesses the repeat purchases and referrals are fundamental to their long term growth and profitability. This is why good customer service has been the pinnacle to company's success. But what constitutes to good customer service?
If this question was to be asked to a large group of people, you can probably come up with tones of answers, mainly because every person is different and has different expectations. So in order to give a general understanding to what, makes good customer service, I will keep this short.
The first would be the greetings. A pleasant reception can help a customer feel welcomed when entering into any business place. All this requires sometime is just a simple smile, customers love too feel wanted and appreciated. And the first impression usually makes the difference on whether or not they would buy from you or not.
Another quality that customers look for is knowledgeable customer service staff. There is nothing more comforting to know that all your questions can be answered. When companies fail to ensure that their customer service staff is not equipped with the required information, it usually ends with the customer becoming frustrated and losing confidence in the company.
The next area is reliability, companies that doesn't maintain their basic products on a constant basis, stands to lose their customers to the competition. This helps build the customer's confidence and loyalty in the company and getting a referral from that customer would also come easily.
The final most important feature of good customer service is the post sale service. This would include everything that takes place after the sale has been completed, for example, what policies the company may have on return items, product repair, and assistance on how to use the product. Customers rate businesses on this aspect to know if they would either refer the business to someone else or if they would make any future purchase.
These can be some key factors that will generate the continuous survival of a business.
