These days it appears there is a lack of customer service on a large basis. One would wonder why this is the case, why would it be that the individuals or the company’s overall don't give a care about keeping your business. Is it a sign of the times or is there just a general lack of respect and compassion?
A lot of people will consider this and feel it has something to do with moving into the computer era we live in now, that this is the reason the customer service has declined from what we are generally accustomed to. Their thought is that the really long wait time and the automated phone services cut into that feeling of good customer service but is it really? It does make one a bit nuts to push a bunch of number so you can reach the correct menu or finally a live person, but that may not be the cause of poor customer service.
To make this point look at the commercial flight services. There was one of the airlines that used to have a motto of flying the friendly skies, but that is in decline, in reality it is gone for good. If this service industry was very customer service friendly in the past why is it they can't still do it that way now? It may be because most of the people in the public are becoming very complacent, they are used to being pushed about here and there, treated like a number only.
So then take a look at comparing the commercial flight industry to the private jet charter industry. If you look at the differences in their customer service performance you will see a huge difference in the level of caring about the customer and meeting their needs. This customer service difference is what is pushing the private charter services to a higher level, the customers are taken care of and that's what all they want, someone to respond to their needs.
You know that it is not just the airlines having a problem here; there are many other companies who have issues with poor customer service. And the problem with rude customer service agents and lack of caring will continue if the public just puts up with it. If our providers want to save some money and have to cut back in some areas that is understandable, but if it is causing a problem for the customers then the customers may just decide to go somewhere else.
