Customer Service Training:
Using Social Media for Excellent Customer Service Class

Social media is quite the buzz word these days. The number of businesses using social media to market their business is growing rapidly. At the core of social media is building relationships. Social media is about letting people get to know you and your business, and not about selling. An essential part of how you utilize social media should be customer service. Customer service is a continuous relationship with your customer throughout the entire process. If you want repeat business and referrals, than customer service is of upmost importance. Use social media to not only connect with new customers, but to also provide excellent customer service to your current customers. Give your customers multiple ways to connect and communicate with you. The following tips are a few ways to provide customer service through social media.

Pay attention to what people are saying about your company. You can use Twitter search to search for your business and see what is being said about your company. Google your company, see what comes up. Google alerts are another great way to keep track of what the internet is saying about you. There is no doubt that your customers are doing this, so you need to stay on top of what information is out there. If there is negative information or reviews, try to get to the bottom of them and resolve the problem. You can learn a lot about what is or isn't working for your business.

Be available - Give your customers multiple ways to contact you. Being readily available for your customers goes a long way in providing a great customer experience. Make sure to respond quickly to comments made on Twitter, FaceBook, or your blog, and to check your accounts regularly. With customer service questions, receiving a quick response is very important and leaves the customer with a secure feeling. Even if you cannot resolve the issue right away, the customer will know their problem is being handled. Potential customers may also benefit from some of the answers, as well as knowing that they will be taken care of in the future. The many social media tools available today allow you to be available to your customers.

Write FAQ Blog Posts - take some of your most frequently asked questions and answer them through posts on your blog. This gives you the chance to cover popular questions in one response. And if one customer is asking, then there are others out there who are also wondering. You can direct people to your blog for answers. Try to answer your customer's questions before they have to ask. This can save you time and prevent possible problems.

Share tips and ideas on how to use and maintain your product. The customers who have purchased your product will greatly appreciate new ways to use your products, and ideas to keep it well maintained.

There are many ways to give your customers great customer service, and it should be a top priority. Social media is providing another avenue to expand your customer service program, and to help you build your business. As you continue to provide excellent customer service, your business will continue to grow.
